Mother's Day the MoreyGirl Way!

illustrator

I love Adobe Illustrator. It's the best of both worlds for me. I can draw and play on the computer at the same time. I have to admit though, I didn't really know how to use it when I first got it. I decided that I needed to take a class on it and found http://nicolesclasses.com/

We are in our second week now, but I thought I would show you may homework from the first week! We had to use all text in order to show we understood the text tool.

I picked this verse because I've been reading Philippians (the whole book) everyday for the month of April. It's a 28 day challenge.  It's pretty interesting, you should check it out. Thanks, Chris, for sharing it with me.

let them paint

This was a fun day! The boys found little "paint your own garden gnomes" in their Easter baskets. I had forgotten about them, until one day I came in and Bo had painted one of his semis blue! (No pic of that, I wasn't very happy) At least he painted it on the kitchen counter and not the living room carpet!

I scored them at Target in the $1 bin aisles. I have a love/hate relationship with those aisles. Love them because there's always fun stuff like this. Hate them because there is always some pushy lady with a pushy cart pushing her way through therefore pushing me out! I guess really, that's the way the whole store of Target is for me. We did go one morning at 8:30. THE absolute best time to shop at Target...no one is there!

Anyway, they love painting these. Slone is really into drawing and art. I love that he loves that stuff.

Bo, on the other hand, doesn't quite have all the coordination down yet. But we've been working on it. He's getting better at it!

And here are the results! Slone's is on the left, Bo's on the right!

lilacs

Somewhere along the line, the lilacs started to bloom. I love the scent of them. We have five bushes in our yard and when the breeze blows from the south, I can smell them in my kitchen.

These are in my kitchen right now.

This is a sneak peek to my chair! I love the fabric from Anna Maria.

And a couple of the boys...

Happy Thursday!

my new project

I found this chair on the side of the road. It had been there for probably three days before I stopped to pick it up. I'm glad Dad was with me when I did. It turned out to be a la-z-boy recliner, and it is HEAVY!

I already have it all taken apart. I've almost got all the staples removed, and boy, does my hand ache from it.

I've painted the legs too. I just need to decide on the fabric for it!

It's actually not in too bad of shape for sitting in the trash! I can't wait to show you guys the after pics!

Easter pics

Bo with Pa sorting out the eggs.

This was the before shot. Bo was throwing a fit because the bigger kids kept picking up the eggs right in front of him.

Maggie striking a pose.

All the little boys on the fourwheeler with Pa.

Uncle Mike on the little bike:)

until now...

...you were this sweet little baby that would always smile for me.

You drooled constantly. I couldn't keep a dry shirt on you! Check out the bibs in this pic.

You would play with stuffed animals. Well, you still play with them, but now you're the doctor when you play.

Here's where you are starting to be more independent.

And now this...

I guess he hasn't left the confines of the yard...yet. It's just been a big growing up year for him. Well, for me too.
