Creative God - week 7 & 8

Exodus 40 - Numbers 5

Fun reading, isn't it? See why last year I quit posting about this time? :)

Ever wonder why God has some many rules? Or is it that we are just so sin full. It's the latter. All the info about sacrifices and how they should make them. Thank Jesus that He is the perfect sacrifice. Thank Him that we don't have to do any of that stuff.

In Him we are made holy.

Cara and Bruce

So sometimes things don't go as planned...Cara had really wanted snow for her engagement pictures. But this year, it was not to be. But she did get precipitation! Lots of rain!

This was my window...before we took any pics!

We decided to just go with it!

It was cold and wet and muddy! Cara and Bruce were a lot of fun though! I didn't get nearly as wet as they did...but I kept my coat on the whole time!

wiww

It seems like a long time since I have written a wiww post! Sorry I've been a little mia around here. Just busy doing some special orders and taking pics...Jala and Cara...your pics will be up soon!

Anyway, this is what I wore today to lunch with Emma. Emma is a very very dear friend. She, besides my sisters, probably knows the most about me. We grew up together, started kindergarten together and graduated together. We are those friends that never really have to catch up, we just pick up where we left off.

Sweater is from the loft. I really like it except it is really "woolly" smelling. Strong. But I'm scared to wash it and mess up the sweater by shrinking it. And my old navy jeans. I haven't lost any more weight lately though. Still holding strong at 157. I blame it on all the m&ms that I have been eating:(

The earrings I got here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MonarchJewelryPeoria?ref=ss_profile. Her name's Heather:) I bought a few things from her at a show and my mom bought me even more from her for Christmas:) I'll show you sometime.

We also had a 60th anniversary party for Matt's grandparents. Grandma asked us all to wear red, black or white.
I didn't buy anything new for the day except my red scarf. I love red but just didn't have any red lately. I am trying really hard to not just keep buying clothes. So I found my black sweater, button up jean skirt and my flowered tights (you can't see em:(
***edited***just realized that Mom gave me a red scarf for Christmas! Aw, well, it doesn't have the purple pompoms on it, I guess***

Ready for the party

Here's a pic of all of us with Grandma and Grandpa.

I think someone told the Windishs that it's a sin to smile, my children included. Good grief! But seriously, could they get any cuter?

Creative God - week 6

Exodus 20-39

Have you ever sewn anything from a pattern? No? Have you ever followed a recipe? I think most people have done that. At some point in your life, you have followed directions. Now what happens when you don't follow directions? Well, it usually doesn't turn out the way we hoped.

I think it's pretty awesome that our God laid out all the instructions for the Israelites way back when. That He had a plan or pattern for everything. He knew how He wanted it to be, right down to the stitches on the priests robes.

It's awesome that He took the time to dictate all of it. If He took that much time telling us how He wanted the temple, I wonder how much time He took to make us. How much thought He puts into each and everyone of us.

A Creative God indeed!

Creative God - week 5

Almost a week late - sorry!!

I love the story of Moses. I feel like a kid when I read it. I can remember teachers I had, and how they told the story. The first 5 books of the Bible though were really taught to me by my junior high Sunday school teacher, Larry. There were only three of us in the class most Sundays, me, Tina and Gabe. Sometimes Adam would come too.

I can vividly remember sitting at one end of the table, while Larry sat at the head of the table at the other end. I really loved that class. Loved the stories.

Side note: I just got to see Larry last summer at a graduation party. He didn't recognize me:) I think I might have still had my blonde hair at the time.

Anyway, back to Moses. I'm glad God used him, even though he was a murderer, a flight risk, a stutterer, a whiner. He also lost his temper, hit things when he was mad (water from the rock), threw things when he was mad (commandment tablets), passed the blame, and acted dumb. But God still used him. He delivered some very important rules to Moses, entrusted him with them.

I think it's important to remember Moses, especially when we are feeling inadequate because of our sins. I think a lot of times I think that God would never use someone like me because of what I've done. That line from Addison Road keeps coming to my mind: "I think I made You too small." He can do whatever He wants, with whomever He wants.

Romans8:28
"For we know all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose."
